    Macbook: New Power Adapter

My almost-5-yo Macbook needs power adapter to be replaced this morning.

This happens because I pushed a table to keep the adaptor stick to the power outlet on the wall when I was working at the hospital 2 days ago.

Luckily the apple store have the stock ready

It’s charging and I’m ready to work 🙂

Phew. The macbook has gone through many things during the gradschool. What a long journey.

The desk and dust entropy has been reduced…

The desk and dust entropy has been reduced to 10-20% 🙂

    Clean and simple, just books

but I still hide some of the pile of papers and books beneath 😀

    Gradschool life: Desk Entropy Horror

The snapshots of my horror working desks.

    At home

    At the office 1

    At the office 2

Along with the increasing desk entropy, so does my absentmindedness. I lost many important books, important papers, kids’ books, kids’ drawings, and often find it at unpredictable places. This is also happen with my digital data. I have many backups but with a lot of redundant folders and files, unsynchronized. Have to fix this chaotic life very soon (after a graduate, if I ever. I also write about gradschool life preparation here).

    Learning Information Theory

I took a course on Information Theory years ago when I was taking master degree and completely forgot about everything when I need to learn it quickly to use the theory to support my arguments for an cryptographic issues.

I read some books that only caused more desperation, so I decided to google some introductions about information theory, and find these brilliant video tutorials:

    1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=hzdvX1ong18
    2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XqwUL9QRr-Y&feature=relmfu
    3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NuAwCbW5Lug&feature=relmfu
    4. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HwIAYM6hS2U&feature=relmfu
    5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jjzc4-a6Iwg&feature=relmfu
    6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v1wyG64Xd8E&feature=relmfu
Sometimes video tutorial seems to offer more advantages to me than reading textbooks. It’s easier to understand and does not cause dizziness or sleepiness, ha ha ah. OK now I have enough understanding to continue on writing next publication, and using information theory as one of the arguments. Yay 🙂
